Driver dead, one injured in Lagos truck accident

In a single collision involving a 40-foot containerized articulated vehicle in the Isheri Elemu inner Ijegun region of Lagos, a truck driver died and his motor boy was injured.

The driver was trapped below the overturned vehicle and killed at the scene, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The motor kid was rescued and transported to a local hospital for treatment after surviving the collision with numerous injuries, including fractures, according to the agency.

The empty articulated vehicle abruptly lost stability while in motion and overturned, according to LASTMA's early findings.

The driver's body was found and the injured motor boy was evacuated by members of the agency's Rescue and Recovery Unit, who reportedly arrived at the scene quickly.

According to LASTMA, a flatbed recovery truck and a heavy-duty crane were used to remove the overturned car and clear the wreckage from the road so that traffic could resume as usual.

During the rescue and recovery effort, Isheri Osun Police Division officers also offered security assistance.

Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan, General Manager of LASTMA, wished the injured motor boy a quick recovery and offered his sympathies to the family of the deceased driver.
