FG launches smart police station in Abuja
With the opening of a cutting-edge smart police station in Katampe, Abuja, the Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving internal security and providing services at the grassroots level.
It is anticipated that the facility, which was constructed by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund and formally turned over to the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday, will greatly improve the effectiveness of law enforcement and fortify ties between the police and the population in the Federal Capital Territory.
In the days ahead, similar smart police stations are anticipated to be put into service in Kogi, Enugu, and other locations around the nation.
Anuma Nla, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, spoke on behalf of Ibrahim Gaidam, the Minister of Police Affairs, and characterised the project as evidence of the government's commitment to maintaining peace and order at the local level.
“It embodies our collective resolve to entrench law and order, improve community-police relations, and ensure that every citizen can live without fear.
“It stands as a beacon of hope, a pledge of protection, and a commitment to service delivery at the grassroots,” Nla said.
He emphasised the importance of timely, equitable, and accountable policing and asked police assigned to the institution to maintain the greatest levels of professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights.
