Fire burns down shop in Ibadan, destroys goods worth millions of naira
In Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, a container store caught fire, destroying goods valued at millions of naira.
According to information obtained by DAILY POST, the incident happened on Tuesday outside the Mobil Filling Station on Ring Road in Ibadan.
It was discovered that the container store had millions of naira worth of merchandise.
There were no reported casualties in the incident. Hon. Maroof Akinwande, the chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, attested to the occurrence.
Akinwande said, “The firemen quickly got to work and curtailed the fire from spreading to the surrounding filling station and other shops within the vicinity.
"No casualty was recorded. The fire only affected the container shop and the lubricant oil stored inside it, while the Mobil Filling Station, nearby shops and properties worth millions of naira were saved from the devastating fire by the fire service”.
