At the official foreign exchange market on Thursday, the value of the naira continued to rise in relation to the dollar.  This is based on statistics from the Central Bank of Nigeria.  

According to data from the apex bank's official website, the naira appreciated somewhat versus the dollar on Thursday, rising from N1,534.83 on Wednesday to N1,534.52 on Thursday.  

This indicates that the Naira experienced a slight daily increase of 0.3.  On Thursday, the Naira was trading at the same rate as the day before, N1,565 to the dollar, on the black market.  

Keep in mind that the Naira strengthened on Wednesday on both the official and black markets.  Hakama Sidi Ali, the spokesman for CBN, has issued a statement warning Nigerians not to spray, hawk, mutilate, or counterfeit Naira.
