The Naira dropped from N1,383 per dollar last Thursday to N1,387 per dollar yesterday in the parallel market.

However, in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, or NFEM, the naira increased to N1,367.5 per dollar.

According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, or CBN, the naira's indicative exchange rate decreased to N1,367.5 per dollar from N1,374 per dollar on Thursday of last week, indicating an N6.5 appreciation. 

As a result, the difference between the official and parallel markets increased from N9 to N19.5 per dollar on Thursday of last week.

The interbank foreign exchange market's turnover rose from $58.03 million on Thursday of last week to $59.93 million, a 3.2 percent gain.
