Ogun court sentences Portable to three months imprisonment for assault

On Tuesday, a Magistrate Court in Ogun State's Ifo Local Government Area sentenced controversial hip-hop musician Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, to three months in prison for assault, with the possibility of a N30,000 fine.

In April 2023, Portable was arraigned before the Magistrate Court on charge sheet No. MIF/192C/2023, which included three counts related to assault and theft of a musical instrument.  At first, the singer was given N300,000 bail with two sureties from his close relatives.

But after not showing up for a while, he was reportedly taken before the court last Thursday.  After that, he was placed under remand in the state Correctional Service and returned to court on Tuesday, the day of the judgement.
