Police arrest couple for operating illegal babies home in Abia
A couple named Blessing and Sunday Emebo were taken into custody by the Abia State Police Command for running an unlicensed motherless babies' home.
Twelve children were saved when the arrest occurred at their Aba flat on Ikot Ekpene Road.
This was revealed in a statement released on Monday by Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson for the Command.
Chinaka claims that on May 19 at approximately 11:45 a.m., investigators from the Abia State Police Command arrested the suspects based on reliable information.
She verified that the couple's home, which was being utilised as an unlawful facility, was the site of the operation. Twelve children, ages two months to fourteen years, from different villages in the Arochukwu Local Government Area were discovered under their care.
