Police nab two with human skulls in Ogun

Two individuals have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for illegally possessing three human skulls in the state's Ijebu axis.

Omolola Odutola, the Command's Public Relations Officer, said this in a statement released in the state capital of Abeokuta.

Odutola claims that the arrest came after a standard stop-and-search operation on August 11, 2025, at around 2:00 p.m., carried out by 71 PMF Awa Ijebu agents along the Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway, close to Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.

“During the exercise, officers intercepted one Kadir Owolabi, male, who was riding a motorcycle. A search of his luggage led to the shocking discovery of three human skulls,” she said.

She further mentioned that another suspect, 53-year-old Jamiu Yisa, was apprehended at a site behind the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat as a consequence of a follow-up investigation.

The State Criminal Investigation Department, or CID, has been directed by Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo to take over the case for a comprehensive investigation.
