2027 Elections: INEC to start distribution of PVCs Thursday

Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will be distributed to eligible registered voters within the next three days, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This was said by the commission's chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, during a strategic engagement meeting with journalists in Abuja.

In advance of the general elections in 2027, it is anticipated that the exercise will grant access to PVCs to voters who have recently registered, changed their voting locations, or asked for the replacement of damaged cards.

The distribution is a component of ongoing efforts to guaranty that eligible Nigerians can take part in the electoral process, according to INEC.

He stated that in order to prevent unauthorized individuals from using stolen, lost, or compromised voter cards to tamper with the election process, the Commission is stepping up its use of technology.

In advance of the 2027 general elections, Prof. Amupitan cautioned political parties and their supporters against interfering with rival parties' campaigns, rallies, and other events.
