45 academic staff gets promoted to professional cadre in KWASU
Forty-five members of the academic staff of Kwara State University (KWASU) Malete have been promoted to the professorial cadre by the governing council.
The council's 78th regular meeting, which took place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, saw the ratification.
Of the personnel, twenty were promoted to full professorship and twenty-five were elevated to associate professorship.
Professor Saeedat B. Aliyu, the university's Ag. director of university relations, was one of those promoted to full professorial chair. Aliyu teaches in the college of arts and specializes in African Studies' Environment and Gender.
Professor Tajudeen Yusuf, who specializes in Arabic linguistics; Professor Reuben Kehinde Akano, who specializes in African literature and cultural studies; and Professor Ayoola Oladunke Aransi, who specializes in Yoruba literature, cultural studies, and gender studies, are among the other professors who have been promoted within the faculty of arts.
