60 former employees sue Premium Pension over unpaid salaries

Over sixty former workers of Premium Pension Limited have taken the company to the National Industrial Court of Nigeria in Abuja to contest their termination and the company's purported denial of their gratuities and other benefits.

The claimants contend in the lawsuit that their disengagement was illegal, arbitrary, and executed "with malice and bad faith."

They maintain that Premium Pension disengaged them for no apparent reason and has subsequently neglected to pay their rightful payments in spite of repeated requests.  They claim that this has caused them much suffering.

Ibrahim Raji, Emmanuel Folorunsho, Mustapha Sulaiman, and Muhammad Ibrahim, four former employees, filed the lawsuit on behalf of themselves and sixty other disengaged workers.

The only defendant on the list is Premium Pension Limited.  Nine monetary claims and eight declaratory orders are being sought by the claimants.

They want the court to affirm that legitimate employment contracts existed between them and the company from the time they were appointed until their disengagement.

Additionally, they are requesting an order compelling the firm to pay their individual exit/gratuity packages, which they claim were previously approved by the company's board and distributed to every employee.

Additionally, they are asking for an order requiring Premium Pension to fully pay their entitlements "without any deduction of purported liabilities."
