Abducted Kogi principal, NECO official, students regain freedom

The four people kidnapped during the recent attack on an unauthorized examination center in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area of the state, have been rescued, according to the Kogi State Government.

In a statement released on Thursday, Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, revealed that the rescue was the result of a concerted security operation that Governor Usman Ododo had ordered right away following the event.

The commissioner claims that Ododo ordered Commander Jerry Omodara (retd.), the State Security Adviser, to organize a coordinated rescue effort involving the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Police Force, local vigilantes, and other security agencies.

Fanwo praised the bravery and expertise of the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Service, the Police, local vigilantes, and other security agencies that participated in the rescue effort, characterizing their prompt action as additional proof of successful inter-agency cooperation in combating insecurity.

Additionally, the commissioner conveyed the gratitude of the Kogi State Government to President Bola Tinubu for his support of the state's security initiatives.
