Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe has been suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in response to claims that she assaulted a crew member on a movie set.  

According to reports, Igwe allegedly slapped a Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) member during a production, which led to the AGN taking swift disciplinary action.  

The Guild announced that Igwe had been placed on indefinite suspension pending additional investigation in a statement sent to the national chairman and the chairmen of its state chapters.  

According to the AGN, "violence, and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession" were the reason for the suspension.

The statement further directed: “Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her.”
