Armed robbers attack Lagos barber shop, kill two teenagers

Residents of the Cele Nica neighborhood in Lagos State's Ojo Local Government Area are in sorrow following the murder of two adolescent clients, Akorede and Chijindu, by armed robbers who broke into a barbershop.

According to PUNCH Metro, the barbershop is located on Abengo Close, and the event happened on Saturday night.

According to information obtained, three or more criminals broke into the neighborhood at around nine o'clock at night and immediately entered the store to rob its customers.

During a visit to the village on Tuesday, residents told our correspondent that they heard gunshots later and raced to the area, where they discovered the barber and the two youngsters lying in a pool of blood.

According to one of the residents, Duuni Olafeso, Akorede and Chijindu passed away from their wounds, but the barber lived.

She said, “The robbers were about three. According to the injured barber, who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, two of them came in pretending to be customers and immediately ordered everyone to lie down.

“They collected his money and phones, but when they asked Chijindu for his belongings, he told them he only had N1,000 on him for his haircut. That angered the third robber, who was at the entrance, and ordered his colleagues to ‘waste them’.

The barber claimed that although the three of them were struck by the bullets, he pretended to be dead after being wounded in the back.

She claims that Akorede passed away immediately, and that Chijindu and the barber were taken to the hospital.
