Auto crash in Ogun leaves two people dead

At Koto Ajala, near Owode, in Ogun State's Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, a motorcycle collided with a Dongfeng pickup truck on Monday, killing a man and a woman.

In a statement released on Tuesday morning, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency's spokesperson, verified this.

Akinbiyi claims that the motorcyclist's loss of control and excessive speed were the causes of the collision.

He mentioned that an eyewitness reported that the motorbike rider crashed into the approaching Dongfeng truck after losing control while descending Koto Ajala outbound Owode.

He also mentioned that the motorcycle's two occupants perished in the collision.

He stated, “The motorcycle, with registration number FFF 689 HA, collided with the Dongfeng pickup bearing registration number GGE 200 KP.

“The crash claimed the lives of the two occupants of the motorcycle, while no other injuries were recorded.

“FRSC officials evacuated the bodies to the Fakoya Hospital Morgue in Sagamu.”

Akinbiyi claimed that the truck and the damaged motorcycle were brought to the local police station for additional examination.

“Traffic was partially affected immediately after the crash but normalcy has since been restored on the route following traffic management by TRACE and FRSC officials,” he concluded.
