Bandits attack Kano communities, allegedly abduct APC chairman
For the third day in a row, bandits are said to have assaulted towns in Kano State, murdering at least one person and kidnapping the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rogo Local Government Area.
According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the most recent attack took place in Beli village, Rogo LGA, where gunmen allegedly broke into the neighbourhood at around one in the morning on Tuesday, fired intermittently, shot a resident, and kidnaped Alhaji Audu Fanka Salisu Yahaya, the local APC chairman.
Jibril Ismail Falgore, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and a native of the local government region, was reportedly close to Yahaya.
According to reports, a young man was also slain during the assault, and other locals were apparently shot.
"They came in, firing sporadically, and went straight to the chairman’s house. They broke down the door, brought him out and took him away. On their way, they shot a young man, who was not more than 25 years old, and he died instantly,”
The story was also supported by a number of Facebook posts from locals urging security services and other pertinent authorities to assist them.
