CBEX Fraud: EFCC declares foreigner investor wanted
Elie Bitar, a foreign national, has been listed as wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly participating in a cryptocurrency scam connected to the online trading platform Crypto Bridge Exchange.
An official bulletin from the Commission states that Bitar, 41, is wanted in connection with a suspected fraudulent scheme that used CBEX to swindle several unwary investors throughout Nigeria.
“The public is hereby notified that ELIE BITAR, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the EFCC stated.
Bitar's last known address, according to the Commission, is Eng. George Enemoh Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos State.
Anyone with important information concerning Bitar's location is encouraged to get in touch with the EFCC's zonal offices in Abuja, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, or Ibadan.
