Court grants entrepreneur, Blord bail
After spending weeks in Kuje prison for allegedly impersonating social media commenter Martins Vincent Otse, commonly known as VeryDarkMan, celebrity Nigerian bitcoin entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been granted release.
In a message posted on his official Facebook page on Friday, activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore revealed the development.
Sowore claims that after Blord was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the court imposed conditions and granted him release on self-recognizance.
“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” he wrote.
On April 1, Blord was placed under remand in prison while the case was still pending.
