Cross River NDLEA commander found dead in Calabar hotel

Morrison Ogbonna, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency's (NDLEA) Cross River Commander, was discovered dead in his Calabar hotel room early on Thursday.

According to Vanguard, the commander's officers, who had arrived to retrieve him for a planned assignment, had discovered him dead.

This is what occurred this morning, according to a perfect source who requested anonymity.  When they didn't hear from him, some officers who were supposed to pick him up from the hotel where he stayed went to his room.

“It was on upon knocking without sucess that they drew the attention of the hotel management that opened his room and found him dead.”

The source claims that in August of this year, the commander was moved to Cross River to take Rachel Umebuali's job.

"I can confirm to you that it is true, but what led to the death is what I can't readily tell you," said SP Irene Ugbo-Obase, the police relations officer, when approached about the death report.
