DSS nabs suspected arms dealer connected to Plateau attacls
A suspected guns dealer has been arrested by Department of State Services agents who have destroyed an alleged weaponry supply network connected to attacks in Plateau State and other locations.
On November 12, 2025, the suspect was taken into custody after information led agents to his workshop in Plateau State's Mista Ali neighborhood in Bassa Local Government Area.
The suspect allegedly produced and supplied guns and ammunition to armed groups operating in the Plateau and other northern regions, according to a statement released by the service on Sunday.
“DSS operatives were said to have recovered components of improvised explosive devices, chemicals and equipment from the location.
“Operatives of the Department of State Services have successfully disrupted a high target arms supply network linked to terrorist activities in Plateau and neighbouring states. The operation led to the arrest of Musa Abubakar, a key arms dealer, following precise intelligence on November 12, 2025.
“The suspect confessed to having manufactured and distributed high-calibre weapons and ammunition to armed groups involved in violent attacks in Plateau State and other northern regions.
“His arrest followed credible intelligence on activities of the suspect, which led to a targeted raid on his arms manufacturing workshop located in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State,” It stated.
The operation takes place a few days after the service apprehended Abdulazeez Obadaki, popularly known as Bomboy, an escapee from Kuje Prison who was allegedly involved in the attacks on Owo and Deeper Life Church.
Timna Manjol, 46, was one of nine individuals that the agency had previously said had been arrested.
