A dump truck carrying sand is said to have crashed onto a motorbike at Ilasa Bus Stop, within Mile 2, Lagos State, crushing the unidentified motorcyclist to death.

This was revealed in a statement on Thursday by Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, or LASEMA.

Oke-Osanyintolu claims that the collision, which involved a motorbike and the tipper truck with the licence plate 19F 992FG, happened at approximately 3:18 p.m.

He stated that after receiving a distress call, the agency's Cappa-based Eagle Response Team was called to the area and arrived in about fifteen minutes.

According to an initial evaluation, the tipper driver allegedly lost control of the car before colliding with the motorbike from behind.

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, an adult male passenger on the motorbike passed away as a result of the collision's injuries.

“Tragically, an adult male passenger on the motorcycle lost his life as a result of the collision,” he stated.

The incident was then taken over by LASEMA responders, police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) personnel, and paramedics from the agency's Lagos Response Unit.

Before being given to family members who were present at the site, the deceased's remains were collected by LASEMA staff and carefully packed in a body bag.
