In Ilorin, Kwara State, on Tuesday, agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal Directorate detained 28 alleged online scammers.

According to reliable information obtained by Vanguard, the suspects were connected to cybercrime activities around the state capital as a result of the arrest.  The areas of Tanke, University Road, Oshin, and Agbabiaka were where the suspects were selected.

Seven exotic vehicles, including a brand-new Lexus and Toyota Corolla, two motorcycles, and pricey phones and laptops that were thought to be part of the suspects' illegal trade were reportedly found during the sting operation.

After the continuing investigations are finished, the suspects will be arraigned in court.  An EFCC officer who wished to remain anonymous when contacted confirmed the development.

“The incident actually happened today, but we have to wait for the headquarters to officially vet any incident before release to the public, and that hasn’t been done,”the officer.
