Fire service rescues woman from 60ft well in Lagos
A 32-year-old woman who unintentionally fell into an uncovered well at Number 14, Mustapha Bolatiwa Street, near Agric Bus Stop, in the Ikorodu part of the state, was saved by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
The well was around 60 feet deep. The event that garnered local public attention was referred to as "a miracle." The unidentified woman had reportedly ventured from a nearby building and was sitting on the brink of the well when she unexpectedly slipped and fell in.
Following a distress call, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service personnel quickly reached the location and launched a well-coordinated rescue effort.
Following a tense and sensitive operation, the woman was successfully taken out alive, according to Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
After then, the victim was brought to a local hospital to receive medical care. To avoid such mishaps, Adeseye advised locals to make sure wells and other openings are adequately covered.
Reiterating the service's dedication to protecting lives and property throughout the State, she also praised the rescue team's prompt response and professionalism.
