Former Arsenal player Thomas Partey charged with rape and sexual assault

The Metropolitan Police have charged Thomas Partey, a former midfielder for Arsenal, with multiple severe sexual offenses.

The 32-year-old is charged with one count of sexual assault and five charges of rape involving three separate victims.

Authorities said that one person is charged with two of the rapes, three are related to another woman, and a third is charged with sexual assault.  According to reports, the accidents happened between 2021 and 2022.

The charges were approved by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which acknowledged that it had examined the information provided by police investigators.

In an official statement, the CPS noted: “The Metropolitan Police Service has issued a charge and court summons to Thomas Partey, born 13 June 1992 and residing in Hertfordshire, in relation to the following: five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.”

On August 5, Partey, who recently left Arsenal when his contract expired earlier this month, is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court.
