Lagos State's former attorney general, Alfred Kasunmu, passed away.

According to a statement from his family, Kasunmu, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), passed away quietly early on Sunday, August 9.

According to his family, he was a renowned scholar, mentor, and patriarch whose legacy of knowledge, morality, and service will continue to motivate future generations.

“Professor Kasunmu was not only a cherished patriarch of our family but also a distinguished scholar, mentor, and Senior Advocate of Nigeria whose legacy of wisdom, integrity, and service will continue to inspire generations,” the family said.

According to the family, Kasunmu's commitment to humanity, education, and the law touched many lives.

It further stated that funeral plans would be revealed at a later time.

Visitors are scheduled to visit the family on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, from 1 to 7 p.m.

During the time of grieving, the family requested prayers, stating that it found comfort in Kasunmu's extraordinary life.
