Gov. Makinde renames Ibadan polytechnic after ex-governor Olunloyo

The Polytechnic Ibadan has been named in honor of Dr. Victor Olunloyo, a former governor of Oyo State, by Governor Seyi Makinde.  On Thursday, Makinde revealed the new name for the institution.

From October to December 1983, Dr. Olunloyo presided over the former Oyo State as its governor.

He was Ibadan's first native to hold the position of governor.  A few weeks ago, Olunloyo, who was also the Polytechnic's rector, passed away.

In his remarks on Thursday, Makinde stated that the organization would be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.  "I made the change to honor the former governor," he stated.

At the state funeral for the deceased governor, Makinde made the claim.
