Gov Makinde's security aide resigns
Kabiru Salami, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's executive assistant for security coordination, has resigned effective immediately.
On October 20, 2026, Salami sent a letter to the governor via the Chief of Staff announcing his resignation.
In the letter, Salami expressed gratitude to Makinde for giving him the chance to serve, calling his tenure in the administration a humble and honorable experience.
Despite his decision to resign, he said he was still dedicated to Oyo State's development, security, and peace.
Salami's resignation adds to the number of people who have recently left Makinde's political circle and cabinet.
Other recent departures from the governor's administration include Tara Adefope, who left her position as Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office, and Segun Ogunwuyi, who resigned as Chief of Staff with effect from October 12, 2026.
