Gunmen attack Kebbi community, kill three immigration officers, burn patrol vehicle

On Thursday night, gunmen suspected of belonging to the Lakurawa armed group stormed a checkpoint in Bakin Ruwa community, Bagudu Local Government Area, Kebbi State, killing three Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) personnel.  

During the assault, the attackers also demolished the shelter area at the checkpoint and set a patrol car on fire.  Security analyst Bakatsine highlighted the incident in a post on X on Friday, along with a video that showed the attack's aftermath.

"Yesterday night, gunmen suspected to be Lakurawa attack Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) checkpoint in Bakin Ruwa community, Bagudu LGA of Kebbi State. They killed 3 NIS officer, set a vehicle ablaze and destroyed the shelter area during the attack,” Bakatsine wrote.

Bakatsine further asked; “What steps do you think communities and authorities can take to improve safety in situations like this?.”
