A 25-day blackout in several areas of Lagos State has been declared by Ikeja Electric.  

A notification that was placed on its social media platforms on Friday verified this.  

According to the notice, the outage would start on July 28 and last until August 21, 2025.  There will be blackouts every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the designated dates.  

According to the Disco, the outage is necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria, or TCN, to perform maintenance on the 330 kV line between Omotosho and Ikeja West.

“Please be informed that Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will carry out scheduled maintenance on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330kV transmission line from Monday, July 28 to Thursday, August 21, 2005, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm daily,” the notice read.
