After reportedly shooting at his commanding officer, a senior non-commissioned officer (SNCO) at the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center in Abuja was discovered dead.

Personnel were on duty at the custodial center when the incident occurred on Monday, September 7, at approximately 9:37 a.m.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama claims that once the commanding officer stepped away, the SNCO fired at him but missed.

Makama stated, "The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and an investigation has been launched to establish what led to the shooting." The SNCO was subsequently discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and passed away as a result of the injuries.

For additional action, the SNCO's remains were transported to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, or UATH.
