Kwara declares Monday work-free day for teachers

In honor of this year's World Teachers' Day, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has proclaimed Monday, October 5, 2026, a work-free day for educators throughout the state.

Mashood Agboola, the governor's deputy chief press secretary, made the statement on Friday.

AbdulRazaq sent his best wishes to educators throughout the state, praising them for their contributions to the development of human capital and their tenacity in carrying out their responsibilities.

“His Excellency extends his best wishes to teachers across the length and breadth of the state whose contributions to human capital development is acknowledged at all times,” Agboola said.

Additionally, the governor reiterated his administration's dedication to the well-being of educators and other state citizens.

“He reassures them of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the teachers and of every Kwaran,” the statement added.

As they commemorate the yearly occasion, AbdulRazaq wished the educators a fulfilling and successful career.
