Man kills guest, injured two at neighbour's wedding over loud music

At a wedding event in Kano, a 34-year-old man named Rabiu Mukthar is accused of opening fire, killing one person and wounding three more.

The suspect, who resides in Tudun Yola Quarters, is said to have been upset by the loud music playing during the wedding ceremony.

The incident was confirmed by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, who stated that the suspect allegedly opened fire on everyone present at the event after leaving his home.

He claimed that Mukthar fired intermittently at the assembly with a pump-action gun.

According to Kiyawa, Mukthar and another suspect were taken into custody by the police as soon as they learned about the occurrence.

The weapon that was purportedly used in the incident was found in Mukthar, he continued.

Additionally, Kiyawa stated that the suspect allegedly informed investigators that he was not consulted prior to the musical performance.

He reportedly told the authorities that he opened fire on the group because the commotion disturbed his sleep.

He added that while the investigation is ongoing, the two suspects are being held at the Kano State Police Command's State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
