Mao Ohabunwa emerges new PDP BoT chairman

Mao Ohabunwa was chosen as the chairman of the new board of trustees (BoT) by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is led by Acting National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed.

Ohabunwa was elected on Friday following a meeting at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister's official residence in Abuja, where Isah Dansidi emerged as the board secretary.

Abdulrahman stated during the inauguration that the decision was made to restore the party's true values and win back the public's trust.

The PDP chairman said: “We have come together not merely to inaugurate a new board of trustees but to renew our faith in the ideals that gave birth to this great political family — justice, fairness, inclusivity, and respect for the rule of law”.

He claims that the party has deviated from its founding ideals due to recent events including internal conflicts and obstacles.

Abdulrahman stated that Senator Adolphus Wabara's suspension by the PDP's Abia State chapter was a challenging but essential action since the previous board of trustees, led by Wabara, had lost its moral equilibrium.
