NAFDAC alerts Nigerians, warns against addition of Azodie to palmoil
The practice of adding Azodie to palm oil to increase its appeal by national marketers has been fiercely denounced by the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, or NAFDAC.
The behavior was characterized by the firm as a risky marketing strategy. In order to make palm oil appear redder at night, marketers add Azodie, which puts consumers' health at danger, according to Kenneth Azikwe, Zonal Director of NAFDAC's North Central Zone in Minna.
Azikwe issued a warning, saying that NAFDAC will not stand for such destructive behavior and will take appropriate measures against those who are found to be involved.
Additionally, he emphasized the Agency's dedication to guaranteeing the nation's food items' safety and quality.
