To start the week off on a high note, the naira saw a massive increase in value relative to the dollar on all foreign exchange markets.  

On the black market, the naira appreciated sharply from last Friday's exchange of N 1628 to N 1615 per dollar on Monday.  

This indicates that the naira strengthened by N13 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.  According to the Central Bank of Nigeria's currency rate statistics, the official market saw a gain of N4.57 to N1,581.58 on Monday, from N1,586.15 on Friday.  

In contrast to its performance at the end of business last week, the naira demonstrated strong footing on Monday, according to the development.
