After starting the week higher, the Naira depreciated against the dollar again on Tuesday on both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.  

The Naira fell to N1,533.10 versus the dollar on Tuesday from N1,531.95 on Monday, according to statistics on currency rates from the Central Bank of Nigeria.  

This indicates that the naira, the currency of Nigeria, lost N1.15 daily versus the US dollar.  The Naira also dropped by N5 on the black market, closing at N1565 to the dollar on Tuesday, down from N1560 the day before.  

According to CBN official data, the country's external reserves increased to $39,54 billion as on August 1, 2025, which coincided with the Naira's Monday appreciation vs the dollar.
