Naval chief of operations Admiral Musa is dead

Rear Admiral Musa Katagum, the Nigerian Navy's Chief of Operations, passed away, the navy reported. The Navy's recent operational victories were largely due to the crucial efforts of a respected senior commander, Katagum, who was formerly the Chief of Naval Intelligence. 

Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, Director of Naval Information (DINFO), confirmed his death and said he was a devoted senior officer whose career was distinguished by outstanding professionalism, dedication to duty, and priceless contributions to national security and naval operations.

“Throughout his distinguished service in the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Katagum demonstrated exemplary leadership, strategic insight and unwavering loyalty to the ideals and mission of the Nigerian Navy. His legacy will remain a source of inspiration to all personnel across the services.

“The Nigerian Navy extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and associates during this difficult time. Rear Admiral Katagum passed away following a protracted illness and has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.
