NELFUND releases N31.3m students' loan to Kano university
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has granted ?31,335,500.00 as an institutional fees loan to the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya.
The loan would cover "479 students under the first batch of the 2025/2026 academic session," NELFUND said on Wednesday. In a statement, the college acknowledged receiving the money and stated that it was disbursed on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
The institution reported that it had received "the sum of Thirty One Million Three Hundred and Thirty Five Thousand Five Hundred Naira Only (N31,335,500.00), being Institutional Fees Loan, for four hundred and seventy nine (479) students under our first batch of 2025/2026 academic session," according to an acknowledgement letter signed by Nyalla Gajere, Acting Director, ICT.
The letter, which was sent on behalf of the college's administration, employees, and students, thanked the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND and the organization's employees for their "tireless effort toward the achievement of the success recorded so far." Additionally, it prayed for the program's longevity and expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his "humanitarian and creative initiatives."
For qualified students enrolled in the current academic year, the disbursement is a component of the institutional fees loan arrangement.
