In addition to recovering three stolen service weapons and rescuing fifteen trafficked minors, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) also disrupted an interstate syndicate that was responsible for the theft and sabotage of telecommunications infrastructure throughout the states of Delta and Kano. 

The Commandant General's Special Intelligence Squad (CG's SIS) documented the advancements in a number of intelligence-driven operations aimed against internal corruption, illegal weaponry diversion, child trafficking, and damage of vital infrastructure.

This was revealed in a statement released yesterday by Assistant Commandant of Corps Babawale Afolabi, the Corps' National Public Relations Officer.

He said that the operations were carried out in accordance with Commandant General Prof. Ahmed Audi's zero-tolerance stance toward criminal activity, corruption, and the damage of national property.

According to Afolabi, the squad started looking into child trafficking after receiving a petition over missing children in Nasarawa State's Kokona Local Government Area.

According to him, investigations revealed a syndicate purportedly headed by Anderson Archibong, who pretended to be a representative of a group running a supposed "Back to School Project" under the National Council of Child Rights Advocate. 

He claimed that Archibong trafficked low-income parents' children to purchasers around the nation after taking advantage of them.

According to him, sixteen children were allegedly abducted in January 2026 and sold for N2 million apiece.

Through intelligence-led operations across transit routes, 15 of the 16 children were successfully rescued in Anambra, Imo, Enugu and other eastern transit corridors,” he said.

While efforts were underway to find the other child, Afolabi stated that three alleged buyers, Joy Julius, Ngozi, and Eze Lazarus had been arrested and had admitted to their involvement.
