NUC gives McPherson University full accreditation of 10 programmes

The National Universities Commission has granted McPherson University in Ajebo, Ogun State, full accreditation for ten undergraduate programs that were submitted during the commission's October/November 2025 accreditation process.

Tokunbo Olakunle, the director of information and public relations at McPherson, revealed this in a statement on Monday.

According to Olakunle, the consent was expressed in a letter signed by Engineer Abraham Chundusu, the Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.

He pointed out that a number of evaluations conducted by the NUC team during the accreditation period before the accreditation.

Olakunle stated, “The approval was conveyed in a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission.

“The accreditation followed a comprehensive assessment exercise carried out by different teams from the Commission during visits to the university in October and November 2025.”

Accounting, business administration, finance, marketing, public health, history and diplomatic studies, information technology, law, biotechnology, and economics are among the programs he listed as accredited.

He claims that the accreditation is good for five years.

Francis Igbasan, vice-chancellor of McPherson University, responded to the news by praising the staff's commitment.

Olakunle added, "The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, who announced the development to the university community, praised staff members for their commitment and dedication, describing the achievement as a testament to the institution's pursuit of academic excellence."
