Ogun APC suspends Senator Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Folarin over anti-party activities

Citing accusations of anti-party activity, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Ogun State dismissed Hon. Kunle Folarin and former governor and current senator Gbenga Daniel, who represent Ogun East.

Journalists in Abeokuta were informed of the suspension in a statement sent by Nuberu Olufemi, the APC State Director of Publicity.

The statement claims that after both members declined an invitation to appear before disciplinary committees established to consider accusations against them, they were suspended by their respective wards, Wards 4 and 6 of Sagamu Local Government.

“In exercise of its powers, the State Working Committee of the APC in Ogun State affirms the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin by their respective wards,” the statement said.

On August 19, the disciplinary panels' reports were examined by the APC State Working Committee, which was presided over by Chief Yemi Sanusi.

The party underlined its dedication to maintaining party discipline and regulations and said that the suspension was in accordance with due process.

The suspension is pending additional review and the results of ongoing internal processes, it was added.
