Ondo police arrest 25 suspects during raid on cult initiation ceremony

During the initiation ceremony for new members, at least twenty-five suspected cultists from Ondo, Osun, Lagos, and Edo States were detained in the Uso community in the Owo council area of Ondo state.

According to a police source in the state capital of Akure, the accused have admitted to participating in cult-related activities and are presently under police custody.

According to Vanguard, the suspects' detention was a result of the state's continuous campaign against cult-related activities.

It was discovered that members of the Neo Black Movement (NBM) cult group were preparing to introduce new members at Uso, according to reliable information provided to State Police Command officers by a worried civilian.

The Command moved quickly to prevent the planned initiation by mobilizing and deploying its operatives using intelligence-led techniques.

The source claims that the operation "led to the arrest of twenty-five (25) suspects, drawn from Ondo State, Osun State, Lagos State, and Edo State, at the scene of the initiation.

"One unregistered Daylong motorcycle and one Toyota Highlander SUV were recovered from the suspects during the operation.
