Ooni installs Saka Awojoodu new Jaaran of Ile-Ife

Chief Saka Awojoodu has been appointed the new Jaaran Adimula of Ile-Ife by Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife. Mr. Moses Olafare, Director of Media and Public Affairs at Ooni's Palace, made this announcement on Friday in Ile-Ife.

Palace chiefs, traditional priests, and other important members of the Ife traditional council were drawn to the installation ceremonies, according to Olafare.

He added that Ooni oversaw the installation ceremonies at Oke-Emese within the palace grounds, represented by Oba Idowu Adediwura, the Obalufe of Ife, and Oba Adekola Adeyeye, the Lowa Adimula of Ife.

According to him, the rites were executed in full obedience to the norms directing the appointment of high-ranking leaders in Ile-Ife for generations.

Olafare said following the ceremonial installation, traditional priests and palace bureaucrats escorted the newly installed Jaaran Adimula on a symbolic parade across significant compounds and sacred locations across Ile-Ife.

He claims that the movement is a component of the customary and spiritual procedures necessary to formally take on the duties of the lofty position.
