Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyemi launches Ojaja university

Ojaja University, Ile-Ife Campus was inaugurated on Saturday by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who described it as a paradigm for educational reform in the nation.  

As part of the events commemorating Ooni Ogunwusi's tenth coronation anniversary, the event was held at the university's Ile-Ife campus.  During his speech, the traditional ruler characterized the university as a non-profit, legacy project.  

Oba Ogunwusi expressed gratitude to Alhaji Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar III CFR, the Sultan of Sokoto, for his beneficial influence on his life.  Speaking as well, the Sultan of Sokoto praised the Ooni for their investments in a number of areas, including health and education.

“I thanked Almighty Allah during our time that we have people like you who is really committed to enhancing the life of our people,” the Sultan said.

Ojaja University's pro-chancellor and chairman of the governing council, Prof. Lere Baale, revealed in his speech that the university served as both a cultural embassy and an educational institution.  

Baale further revealed that the university serves as a hub for the revitalization of African leadership and as a residence for scientists, entrepreneurs, farmers, and cultural experts.  

Prof. Jeleel Ojuade, the vice-chancellor of Ojaja University in Eyenkorin, Ilorin, Kwara, praised the university's founding and described it as a tool for generational empowerment.
