Plateau Police arrest 15 suspects disguised as commercial motorcyclists

With the arrest of fifteen suspected criminal elements who had been impersonating commercial motorcyclists throughout the state, the Plateau State Police Command declared a significant victory in its battle against insecurity.

Additionally, it stated that the Command raided multiple locations and detained suspects who fit the description of members of a notorious gang that infiltrated legitimate motorcycle operators and covered their faces with masks while operating, based on credible intelligence regarding an influx of criminal-minded individuals.

In a press release given to reporters in Jos, the State capital, the Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, revealed that the operation, which is still under progress, seeks to make further arrests.

total ban was recently imposed on the operation and activities of commercial motorcyclists in the state.

“However, the police have observed that some individuals are still flouting this order, endangering innocent citizens.

"We wish to warn those who migrated from other States of the Federation to Plateau with ulterior motives to abort their evil plans and immediately leave the State, as the police have launched a massive manhunt for them.

“We will not hesitate to take the full wrath of the law against anyone found to be involved in any criminal activity.”

He stated that the suspects were being held and questioned, and that after the investigations were over, they will face charges in court.
