Police arrest four suspected armed robbers in Kwara
In relation to a robbery that occurred in the Tanke neighbourhood of Ilorin, Kwara State, four suspects have been taken into custody.
Reports state that armed individuals broke into Abdulrazak Dotunji's home in Oke Odo, Tanke. Law enforcement officials responded promptly after locals promptly notified the local police division.
While several of the suspects were able to flee during the police intervention, three were captured at the spot, according to eyewitness accounts.
“Shortly after, another suspect was arrested during a stop-and-search operation around Sanrab junction, near the University of Ilorin axis. One more person is said to have escaped arrest,” a source revealed.
Among the materials found on the suspects were two industrial oxygen cylinders, a dagger, and a Bajaj motorcycle that was reportedly utilised in the operation. The Kwara State Police Command is now housing the detained suspects.
SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Command's Public Relations Officer, confirmed the event on Wednesday and stated that four suspects were in custody: Mohammed Ibrahim, Mohammed Awal, Alkassim Abubakar, and Danjuma Abubakar.
“Yes, it is true and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing accomplices,” she stated.
