Police arrest notorious Lagos cultist

A 44-year-old alleged hired murderer and cult leader who is thought to be terrorising the Mushin region of Lagos State has been taken into custody by the Police Command.

In a statement released in Lagos on Friday, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Command, confirmed the arrest.

He said that following multiple unsuccessful attempts by the Police Tactical Squad, the culprit was finally captured at his hideout in Agbado, Ogun State.

“Today, operatives of the Tactical Squad, during a special operation codenamed ‘Silence, Speed and Surprise’, successfully trailed and arrested the notorious suspect.

“He had been operating alongside multiple gangs and hoodlums, causing chaos across Mushin and surrounding areas for years,” Hundeyin added.

He said that the arrest was a significant step in combating violent crimes and that the suspect was the most wanted person in recent Lagos criminal history.

From 2009 to 2024, the suspect allegedly oversaw a number of violent activities in Mushin, including cult killings, cold-blooded murders, armed robberies, and kidnappings.
