Police arrest three suspects as Customs officer dies in Katsina hotel

According to reports, a Nigeria Customs Service officer named Assistant Superintendent of Customs Lawal Tukur passed away after staying in a hotel room in the city of Katsina.  

Three women, identified as Khadija Ali, 34, of Dutsin Amare Quarters, Katsina; Aisha Lawal, 30, of Ingawa Local Government Area; and Hafsat Yusuf, 22, of Brigade Quarters, Kano, were reportedly in the hotel when the incident happened, according to PUNCH Metro.

The incident took place at the Murjani Hotel in Katsina, where the deceased had stayed.  It was discovered that Hafsat later paid them a visit and stayed at the same hotel as Khadija and Aisha, who had spent the night with the deceased.

Later, the officer's body was sent to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina, where a physician pronounced him dead.  

It was also discovered that the state's NCS had been notified of the development and that additional investigation was needed to identify the cause of death.  

An question regarding the event was not immediately answered by ASC1 Bello Isah, the spokesperson for the state's NSC command.  

Additionally, as of the time this report was filed, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, the public relations officer for the Katsina State Police, had not yet responded to the query.
