Police nab three suspects connected to murder of former Ogun broadcaster
Three suspects have been detained by the Ogun State Police Command in connection with the murder of Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, a former broadcaster for the Ogun State-owned television station (OGTV), and her security guard at her home in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The chief suspect allegedly admitted that Oyesiku and her guard were slain to "teach her a lesson" about inadequate compensation, according to Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni, who paraded the suspects at the state police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital.
He claimed that sophisticated tracking and intelligence gathering made the arrests possible.
A black pen, a board, a cutlass, and a broken hammer were found as exhibits, according to the police.
Ojajuni stated that the suspects would face charges in court and that the investigation was still under progress.
At her home in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Oyesiku and her guard were discovered dead. Her guard was found inside the security home, and Oyesiku was found lying in a pool of blood in her living room.
On June 21, 2026, at approximately 4 p.m., the Owode-Egba Police Station got a report about unusual circumstances at Oyesiku's home, according to the police commissioner.
“Preliminary information indicated that the front door of the residence had been partially damaged while the security house within the compound was found locked, prompting immediate police intervention,” he said.
According to Ojajuni, a preliminary inquiry showed that the deceased's Lexus RX 330 was missing from the premises, raising suspicions of robbery and murder. The crime scene was analyzed scientifically.
He claimed that in order to find the culprits and retrieve the lost car, the command initiated a thorough investigation, intelligence collection, and technical tracking activities.
