During an alleged initiation procession in the Isara Remo region of Ogun State, the Ogun State Police Command detained thirty people who were suspected of being cult members.

According to a statement signed by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer, the suspects were taken into custody on Thursday by members of the Command's Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).

Credible information that a group of persons had gathered at an unfinished structure in the town, where they were allegedly drinking alcohol, chanting, and performing initiation rituals, led to their arrest.

In a well-planned tactical operation, the VCRU Commander reportedly responded quickly to the intelligence by assaulting the site with a joint force, separating the crowd, and apprehending the culprits.

Four cars, a jackknife, a native drum, a rattle (sekere), and multiple bottles purportedly used for alcohol use during the unlawful gathering were among the items found at the scene.
